GitHub is probably the biggest public home for [[git]] repositories across pretty much every [[Programming Languages|programming language]] ecosystem.

The key thing: git and GitHub are not the same.
- git = version control tool
- GitHub = hosted collaboration platform built around git repos

Common collaboration flow:
- push branch
- open pull request
- review/discuss changes
- merge to main

GitHub also adds issues, actions/automation, wiki pages, and project boards.
